About the Training
This course is designed to teach peer support crisis intervention skills to public safety officers and individuals working in a group environment. It is a specialized acute emergency mental health intervention course used throughout the United States by public safety agencies, businesses and schools. This training requires specialized instruction developed and supported by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). As physical first aid is to surgery, crisis intervention is to psychotherapy. This three-day seminar will provide the participant with the knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to provide this “psychological first aid” to co-workers and others affected by critical incidents, post-traumatic stress as well as the long-term effects of cumulative stress.
This ICISF 3-day basic peer support course covering Individual Peer Support and Group Crisis Intervention certifications will be held at the Avon Police Department, Nov. 11th-13th, 2026. CILETC members free, register online through your training officer. Non-CILETC members cost…
