About the Training
THIS IS A NON-CILETC COURSE.
The FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division is willing to travel and conduct the following class at the Police Department in Anderson, Indiana from August 13-15, 2024. All law enforcement personnel are welcome to attend for a basic understanding of fingerprints. It is a three-day commitment with hours from 8 am to 4 pm. Please contact APD training with your name, rank, email, phone, and agency information via email to sign up by 3 pm on July 31, 2024.
Description: This course is for individuals interested in obtaining a basic understanding of fingerprints.
· Participants will learn the fingerprint pattern types, classification using the Henry (modified version), National Crime Information Center (NCIC) systems, and AFIS Pattern Classification (APAT) code.
· The course will demonstrate procedures to reach a conclusion of identification or exclusion and will cover recommended techniques to record/collect legible fingerprints and palm prints.
· Course curriculum consists of presentation/workbook, facilitated discussions, and practical hands-on exercises.
